PROJECT

South Baltic Farms – an essential part of renewable energy systems

Duration:

09/2023 – 08/2026 (36 months)

Funding authority:

Interreg South Baltic

More

While the challenges and opportunities for farms across the South Baltic Sea region may differ, a common goal is to improve energy production and storage at the farm level and increase energy security. However, many farms are too small to make optimal use of their resources and energy technologies such as anaerobic digestion.

The main objectives of the project are:

  1. Security and renewable energy integration. To build sustainable and stable energy systems suitable for local conditions, decrease dependence of external energy sources and decrease a need for artificial fertilizers.
  2. Sustainable practices. To maximise the use of potential, reduce costs, decrease emissions.

Collaboration and innovations. To increase capacity, overcome the challenges together and maximize the opportunities for energy production.
